Amos

Amos was of humble origins, a native of Judah and  worked as a shepherd. He was called by God to prophesy to the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of Jeroboam II (786-746 BC.

Sparing no one, the prophet fearlessly announced the impending judgment of God. Although the dominant note of the book is judgment on those who neglect God’s word, the final words of his prophecy  promise the restoration of a righteous remnant who will prosper in the Land of  Promise.
