Ephesians
This is another letter written by the apostle Paul probably written from the confines of prison (Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, 6:20). The main theme of the letter was not to put right any specific problem in the Ephesian community but to encourage them in their life of dedication to God and to Christ. Paul reminds them of the their privileged position as being believers of the Lord Jesus Christ, reminding them that they were once without the truth of God’s word but are now part of the family of God through the work of Christ. Paul also reminds the readers of this letter of the parallels that exist between Christ and the church and the inseparable relationship between husband and wife. In typical fashion, Paul also provides great practical instruction in the last chapter of this letter when believers are faced with the enemies of God’s truth.
