| Ezra
The books of Ezra and Nehemiah are acknowledged by most biblical scholars to have once been one book as they both record the events occurring at the close of the Jews exile in Babylon when the people were once again allowed to return back into the land of Israel.
The first part of the book deals with the first wave of returnees in the first year of Cyrus (B.C. 536) who established and completed the building of the temple. The latter section of the book is concerned with the second wave of returnees under Ezra himself in the seventh year of Artaxerxes and the events that took place in Jerusalem after his arrival.
