| Job
This book is named after its main character and deals with an ageless question, one that challenges every generation - the problem of human suffering, particularly the affliction of the righteous.
We are given an account of the real affliction and anguish of Job, a devout believer in God. We are made aware of the arguments between Job and three of his friends (Bildad, Zophar and Eliphaz) as to the cause of his sufferings, and finally, of the solution to his difficulty and the ultimate blessings given to Job by God.
The book’s principal aim therefore is to demonstrate God’s blessing through suffering.
