| Mark
Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospel records. It omits the stories of the birth and childhood of Jesus and commences with John the Baptist and the public ministry of Jesus.
The central themes of Mark include: the future coming of Jesus Christ to establish the Kingdom of God, describing its benefits for the earth and for mankind; Jesus as the Son of Man, the Messiah and the Son of God; the escape from mortality through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Mark also stresses the suffering and death of Jesus and emphasises the necessity for a life of self-sacrifice dedicated to serving God acceptably.
