Zephaniah
This book, though brief, is comprehensive, embracing the two great themes of prophetic teaching, those of judgment and salvation - both extending to all nations. Zephaniah exhorts the readers of his book to seek God whilst there is still time and to grasp the opportunity of salvation before judgment comes upon those who have not known God. Although there is a sharp rebuke for the people of Jerusalem in chapter 3 because of their rebellious heart, there is the ultimate promise of her safety and protection due to the people’s eventual acceptance of God’s instruction and authority.
